This past Saturday was the Tribeca Film Festival Family Day. Greenwich Street was closed off from Hubert down to Chanbers. Small local businesses were invited to have a booth to sell items from their place of retail or restaurant and local public schools sell tee shirts to raise money for their art programs. There are also big sponsors like ESPN/Sports and Verizon supplying all sorts of entertainment for the kids.
This day was the only day in the 10 day span of the film festival that it actually felt like the Tribeca Film Festival. It has grown so big that our neighborhood can not keep up with it. Movies are being screened all over the city and the crowds and charm have all gone with it. Mr De Niro we know you don’t live down here anymore but we miss you!
