Rob Allen and Kurt Mize along with about 8 other investors opened up a wine club/retail space geared towards wine tasting events with 5 course meals that touts one particular wine maker and their wines as well as retail to help wine collectors and the novice to expand their wine palette and vocabulary. The emphasis is on ‘terroir’ and also value. They want the consumer/drinker to know the story behind their wines they have in stock. Last night I attended a dinner at this lovely space equipped with a beautiful open kitchen that promoted Joe Pithon and his wines from the Loire Valley.The six white wines were all Chenin Blancs but each had distinctively different characteristics because of the terroir of each. The meal was set as such that the food really brought out the true characteristics of each wine.
