Uruguayan women have great spunk.At least these women do who were hosting The Great Tannat tasting today at Centrico restaurant.Tannat is the grape varietal that is putting Uruguay on the map as serious wine producers. Tannat has great body and tannic structure if made by the right maker. It is best drunk with food such as bife.I tried a really fun dessert wine, Alcyone, with Tannat as its base and it was similar to a Marsala wine. Perfect with chocolate cake. You will be seeing that on my wine list come October.
